Good Afternoon! Happy Saturday Friends.
This week over on Kidtales (Kidtales Facebook) we were blessed
with a special Author feature on Wendy Nystrom.
Wendy writes fantasy adventure chapter books for children!
Her general age range is probably 7-14,
but I can attest many parents start reading them
to their children while still infants through childhood.
Her books are known to keep children drawn in to the imagination,
spark new interests, and give children a sense of wonder and curiosity.
Currently Wendy has three children's books published,
with a fourth in editing with her publisher- Anchor Group.
Her books can all be bought direct from her for an incredible deal,
or you can grab the awesome e-book sale for only $0.99 each
on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
Really-they are incredibly priced for what your children will gain.
James Saves the Moon Synopsis:
"Here within lies a tale of a young boy named James, which takes place in a far away island nation of Iceland." Travel along with James up the mountain, soaring through the air with his friends he meets along the way to reach the moon.
...A review on James Saves the Moon:
Just read the coolest kids book....its called "James Saves The Moon" by Wendy Nystrom.
Wendy's book starts in Iceland, and her son saw something-remarkable. But-at the same time, he wonders, could it really be? So what does he want to do-explore of course, after all, he is a little boy with a great imagination! James sets out on an adventure inspired by his mom and supported by his family. Along the way he makes a new best friend, and other friends. He finds out some fables of Iceland, and explores things around-but most of all, he experiences a journey of a lifetime with his new friends. Really, this book is one that will spark your child's imagination, set them off in wonder, and give them something to aspire for! Wendy's illustrations will give you the feel of another land, an adventure in itself-great job to her illustrator! Her writing makes each image pop together, and form almost a movie in your mind. Such a fun book to enjoy!
My 9 year old has become a "mega fan" and reads the book daily! It is one of his newest favorites! He talks about it, shows people the book, and explains it to his brothers--that is a book that has truly captured a child---phenomenal.

...A Review of Helga Returns:
Wendy Nystrom has a knack for keeping ADHD/Special needs children entertained and enthused.
My son is 9, and he adores this book more than I can tell you! He daily reads Helga and also James Saves the Moon. Something about it just captures him. Wendy has some of the most eye-catching illustrations made to capture the essence of the story. The more I've read this the more I realize, it really is a story of lessons, but also adventure, and a journey as well. James and his best friend Syvok take a journey, and on that journey they learn many things children need to know in life. Wendy has an extra-ordinary ability to write in details of her story that capture a child. Helga is a troll who makes a return after many years of quiet, and why was Helga not there to begin with, and who saved Helga in the midst of chaos---find out by reading! I love what James has going on, and how true to life the story could be. Honestly, this is a remarkable follow-up to Wendy's first book-James Saves the Moon! Your children will be captivated by a story of another land-they may never be able to venture to in person, but in imagination and spirit James will be their best friend! Adventures and thrill ravel the pages! I would LOVE to get a "special rock" for my son to stay with the story! This is for sure a best read in our house nightly-with all 2 of my boys who vary in age (6,9, 12). *Thanks for this awesome adventure Wendy!*

...A Review for Tomfoolery and 13 Yule Lads of Iceland:
13 chapters of adventures, delight, wonder, mystery, and ...a whole new world we don't often explore.
What a great adventure it is to escape to Iceland traditions in the third book- Tomfoolery and the 13 Yule Lads of Iceland. We start the adventure with the adorable dragonets and with a visit from special friends-Matt and Syvok. It was interesting to learn about the changes. Especially in December in Akureyri. We jump immediatly into adventures and excitement. You will want to read this just to see what aYule Lad is, and why Iceland has 13! Beautiful illustrations, colorful descriptions, and a story so movingly beautiful...
Surely this book gets 5 Stars plus!
My 9 year old son says:
Brenton's Review:
10 Stars.
It is great fun! I love it! I waited for this.13 Santas is cool.
I want to visit Akureyri! It is dark at Christmas. Lots of fun.
Miss Wendy says Syvok had a Robin Hood hat!
That made me laugh. There are lots of new adventures.
I like the new friends. The fireworks are neat too.
New favorite book.
