As a writer, and also a designer of tapestries with a
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia,
it is only natural for Audrey to weave visual stories.
When she is not designing tapestries, she is busy
conjuring up characters that find themselves in
extraordinary situations. Between carpools
and design work, she is plotting, scheming,
writing, and revising. She lives in North Carolina
with her husband, their three children, and her unruly dog,
Rascals. Audrey's favorite time to write is in the early
morning while her family sleeps. With Rascals
sprawled out snoring beside her, it only takes one
oversized cup of coffee to get her mind moving.
Audrey is a member of the Society of Children’s Book
Writers & Illustrators. She loves traveling, museums,
and blackberry-apple pie. Actually, she loves all kinds of pie.
And she especially loves her family—even if they aren’t purple.
From her website: http://www.audreykane.com/about-audrey/
CAUTION!
Violet’s purple spreads to everything she touches...
Violet lives behind the garden walls. Is she magical?
Is she the devil’s child—or simply cursed?
When the lonely thirteen-year-old embarks on a dangerous journey
to find the one boy that dared to befriend her,
she travels at night ... in the dark ...
to keep people from seeing her purple skin.
But no one is more surprised than
Violet when she unlocks her mysterious gift …

Jen Milius

Jen Milius and the Einstein and Moo Children’s Book Series

Lets meet introduce the two main characters
and real life kitties – Einstein and Moo.
Einstein is a flirty, nosey cat with some white around his mouth
and very white whiskers, thus how he got his name.
He is quite talkative and will talk even more when it is close
to mealtime; sometimes, he will play fetch. Moo is short for Mooshu,
the name of the little sidekick in Disney’s Mulan,
although this Mooshu is more like the second sidekick in Mulan
named Cricket who is sweet and gentle. My Moo squeaks
more than meows, and she loves to climb in your lap and snuggle for hours.

Einstein & Moo and the Quest for the Catnip is the latest release
from the Einstein and Moo children’s book series,
which is about two black-and-white, brother and sister kitties
that are playful, curious, friendly and have many interesting adventures.
Einstein & Moo and the Quest for the Catnip is book three within the series
and is about Einstein and Moo’s favorite treat, a green leafy plant called catnip. It grows outside, and even though they are indoor kitties, they want to find a way to get outside and have some. This may mean that they have to be creative and help each other, but to them, the treat is worth it! I was inspired to write about our kitties because of my love for animals, storytelling, children, and books. To me, when someone shares a book with a child, they share an act of love. So for this particular book, I was inspired by how much Einstein and Moo love the fresh catnip that my family grows in a little pot on our back porch. When they do get to have some, the kitties get the same amount of leaves; however, Moo receives her portion all at once and Einstein receives his one at a time, otherwise he will inhale his portion and all of Moo’s too!

The first two books of the Einstein and Moo series are Einstein and the Leaf and Moo and the Case of the Mistaken Identity, and coming soon will be a coloring book based on the series.

Meet Maggie Van Galen, with Keeno and Ernest!

Maggie van Galen is the award-winning author of the Keeno and Ernest children’s book series. Growing up in Northern Michigan, she listened to her father’s stories, imagining characters, being transported to the locations and engaging in the plots.

Maggie has always written as a sort of escapism…writing poetry, studying journalism and creative writing in college. After graduating from Michigan State University in 1991, she entered the corporate world of sales and marketing. After the death of her father in 1995, and meeting the man of her dreams, Maggie moved to Boston to work for a marketing firm, but writing always pulled her back. She has published a book of poetry called An Inside Look…and wrote for a small-town New Hampshire newspaper. In 2000, she moved to London and worked at The Economist for 3 years and had 2 beautiful boys.

As happiness began shining in her personal life the stories and words started to flow. After years of telling stories to her boys and their friends, Maggie decided to share them with the world. She truly hopes that you enjoy them too! Maggie now lives with her family on the North Shore of Massachusetts.
